LUBMAT was a common initiative between Tekniker and Jost Institute for Tribotechnology which realized that even though there were numerous international congresses dealing with the scientific approach for lubrication and wear, there were not any specific industrially focused (although maintaining the academia compromise too).

First LUBMAT was held in Preston (UK) in 2006 and a second  edition in San Sebastián (Spain) confirmed the successful profile of the Conference in 2008. Based on the previous experiences, the present event has extended the tackled subjects to anyone related to maintenance and tribotechnology too. Contributions are expected on all aspects of those issues (see Main Topics).
